DISCOVERY TREKS
Discovery Treks are usually only planned from two weeks to a month out from when they take place. Usually are located in Montana or Idaho, however can be anywhere in the US. If you would like to be notified of these adventures to possibly participate, please sign up.
WHAT IS A DISCOVERY TREK
These treks are a small group exploring new routes that we have not been on yet. These treks are designed to help us create future larger treks. As with all other treks, we thoroughly plan. These are not. Most of the time, they do not go as planned. This can be due to washed out roads or gated closures.
Road Conditions
Road surfaces can be rutted, rocky, muddy and sandy with steps not exceeding 24”. Water crossings not exceeding 18” with some mud possible. Good ground clearance and driving skills are required. 4WD, 33" tires or taller and working traction devices (locker, limited slip) are beneficial. A winch would be a plus.
